Dear all chairmen,

The following are the instructions given by our kind sponsor, Sports Right, to follow to order the class tee shirts.

Please download the Order Form. After downloading it, please fill in the form accordingly and email it to sportsright21@yahoo.com.sg. Also, please print it out to bring along with you on the day of order as you may need it.

Please send all of your FINALISED designs to sportsright21@yahoo.com.sg, clearly stating your class and the Inter-Class Class Tee Shirt Design Competition. Alternatively, you may send your finalised designs alongside with your order forms. Similarly, please print it out to bring along with you on the day of order as you may need it. All finalised designs are subjected to alteration by Mr Kang from Sports Right to compliment printing procedures.

A deposit of 50% of the payment is required on the date of order. An estimated price of $15 per shirts is given but do bring extra in cases of alteration and ill-estimation. A suggested form of payment would be to fork out the money on your own first and then collecting subsequent corresponding amounts from your classmates.
After comfirmation with your classmates, please download the Order List and fill it up accordingly. You only need to fill in your class and quantity of shirts ordered and send it back to classtshirtdesigncmc@gmail.com. The compilation work will be completed by us.

All timings have been pushed forward from 10am to 8am as requested by Mr Kang.

For all dates, the venue is the area outside General Office.

Yoyoyo Chairmen!

Please be reminded that the latest date of submission of your class tee shirt designs have to be in by thursday. If there are any difficulties, please inform any EXCO and we will work together to solve your problems.

I appeal to all to disregard the tag by B-ideas on the tagboard. Please DO NOT place your orders with them. Sports Right is our official sponsor for this competition and it is definte that the prices from Sports Rights will be lower. Futhermore, discounts vouchers have been given out to all participating classes, thus, ordering with Sports Right would prove to be a better offer.

Please remind your classes that they would have to bring with them rags and old newspapers on Friday, 29/05/2009 to help to tidy up the classrooms and make sure that the classrooms are spick and span on the last day of school.

In addition, for the classes that have not submitted their Hearts to Hearts well-wishing cards to the organising committee, please do so by tomorrow's, 28/05/2009, recess. If you are unable to locate anyone by recess, please approach Irwin at Class 4-8 with your cards and provide a valid reason for your late submission.

Hey there Chairman!

Please be reminded that all of you are supposed to print out your Class Tee Shirt Designs in COLOUR by Monday, 25/05/2009.

Feel free to re-design your class tee shirts and please do so by Wednesday, 27/05/2009. We will be arranging you all to place your orders with our kind sponsor, Sports Right, very soon. You would need to get your Sports Right vouchers ready to get a discounted price upon ordering.

A deposit of 50% of the total payment needs to be paid on the day of order. The estimated cost for the shirts is about $11 to $15 per shirt. This only applies to the designs that fits the specification of the competition. The specifications can be found on here.

More details would be given on a later date. Please check this blog for more updates.

Hi Chairmen!

Hope you've done well for your Mid-Years and Mastery Reviews. Our Student Leaders' Investiture is on 20 May, Wednesday. We'll issue a letter to your parents tomorrow to inform them about the Investiture Rehearsal Dates as well as an invitation for your Parents to attend the Investiture.

For those who did not catch the rehearsal details, Investiture Rehearsals will be held on Thursday (Tomorrow), Next Monday and Tuesday. It will last from 3pm to 7pm (We may end earlier) so please do let your parents know. A valid reason for absence from any of the rehearsals is needed. Punctuality is also expected of you.

2009 Class Photo Taking Schedule

Hello Chairmen!

Heres the schedule for the 2009 Class Phototaking Exercise.

As the name suggests, the photo taken of your class will be up on the 2010 school magazine. As such, chairmen are required to aid the teachers and the photographers to complete this phototaking exercise efficiently and as quick as possible.

The first classes, 4-6 and 4-8 (IRWIN TAKE NOTE :D) will have their class photos taken on this Wed. Please refer to the following (below) for more details. This year's class phototaking exercise will be similar to last year's, and will be held in the morning.

We seek your cooperation, as chairmen, in the success of this event as well. Organize your class well, cooperate with the photographers and make sure your classmates' have their ties and badges of them nicely.

Here are the details for this Friday's Cross-Country.

Reporting Time: 7.20AM
Reporting Venue: Assembly Area at Bishan Park 1

Things to Bring:
1. One bag BIG enough to contain your classmates valuables
2. Lock for the bag. (You can use your class lock)
3. Class List (Will be given on Thursdsay)
4. Pen (To take attendance)

ALL chairmen are to report by 7.20AM unless you have a valid reason. If you are running, please let the EXCOs know in advance and make sure your vice-chairman/chairman is able to do attendance taking. We'll remind you of the above details again on Thursday. Hi Chairmen,

We know the EXCOS are now in China - BUT that doesn't mean you guys do not carry on your duty and not wear your ties in school.

I'm still around, and I'll still be on the look out for chairmen who aren't performing their duties, or properly attired.

As student leaders, you guys should carry on with your duties and daily routines without the need of teachers' and EXCOS' constant reminders.

Apart from that, I'd like to inform all Sec 3s on the following so take note:

1. Chairmen who haven't submit their proposals, your time is almost up; Please send them to me or any of the overseas EXCOS by this Thursday.

2. To Vincent and Yu Fan, please submit your $20 from your group each by TOMORROW. I will personally remind you guys.

3. All Sec 3 chairmen are to COLLECT their classmates' PASSPORT PHOTOS. One photo per person, and with their individual names written at the back, the class' individual passport photos must be kept in an envelope and passed to either your form teachers or me. This should be done by this week, so start collecting.

Back to CMC on whole, I'd like to compliment our 1-5 chairman for doing a great job in the on going Sec 1 class passport photo-taking exercise. He has shown traits of a true leader by effectively controlling the class during the exercise.

Well done!

This post has been quite a mouthful for you guys to swallow so I may be calling a meeting soon to give all of you a simple reminder, especially to the Sec 3s.

Dear Chairmen,

Please excuse yourself from your CCA and report at 4.30 on Friday for the PTM. If you cannot make it or are going to be late for a valid reason, please notify any of the EXCOs Friday morning. Attire will be Full School Uniform with Tie. Your PTM duties will be given out tomorrow.

Regarding the Camp, for those who are joining the camp late or are leaving the camp early, please let Johnervan know by Friday morning. The suggested packing list is in the previous post. Once again, it is only a SUGGESTED packing list. Do bring neccessary items if it's not found in the item list. You are allowed to bring home clothes for sleeping at night.

Sec 1 Registration

Dear all Chairmen, (This is important so take note)

The annual Sec 1 registration for school year 2009 will be held this Friday, 19th of December.

As such, Chairmen(2008) have been tasked to make it to school on that day to help out in this event, if they are available.

Reporting Place: Secondary School General Office
Reporting Time: 7am

The event should end at around noon, and hence LUNCH will not be provided.
Students must be properly attired, in school uniform and tie.

The duty for you are mainly ushering, so it will be a good experience and will help you know your future juniors better.

In any case, if you can make it, please inform any of the excos by THURSDAY tomorrow.

This friday's sec 1 registration only requires chairmen of sec 1 and 2 to come down, sec 3s are not required to.

There is an update regarding the Class T-Shirt Design Competition,

The Order Slips are to be handed to Chiu Yang (Sec 1s) and Bryan Ang (Sec 2s) by Friday (23/5/08). The design need not be in hardcopy. However, a softcopy is to be sent to classtshirtdesigncmc@gmail.com by Friday as well. We will compile all of the designs and send it to Mr Kang, the supplier.

Also, please be prepared to have to be in school during the holidays to meet up with Mr Kang to discuss the price of the t-shirts. Please get ready a deposit of about $200 and get your form teacher to assist you in handling the money. If your class is not cooperative, seek help from you form teacher. The Excos will be overseas from Thursday to Sunday for our Sec 3 Camp, so please be responsible for your own class t-shirt designs.

Dear Chairmen,

Please be notified that everyone has to report to school at 7am on Wednesday. We will be having a briefing with regards to the Afternoon Assembly in the morning from 7am- 7.30am. Thus, we would like to have all the class chaimen from secondary 1 to 3 to report at special room 3A puntually. Nobody is to be late on Wednesday. As much as we do not want to, we would carry out coporal punishment on chairman who are absent without any valid reason or turn up late for the meeting.

This is our first major project of 2008, and we would like to have the participation of every single CMC member.

DEAR CMC MEMBERS,

The upcoming Wednesday will be the announcement and presentation of results of the 'Inter-Class T-shirt Design Competition' during the afternoon assembly.

We will be having a technical run and rehearsal on Tuesday Afternoon.

Here are the tentative details for Tuesday (15/04/08):

Time: 4pm-6pm*

Venue: Secondary School Hall/ Primary School Hall

To ensure the smooth flowing of the Finals on wednesday, everyone's participation in this project is extremely important. Attendance is compulsory for all Secondary One, Two chairmen, and the short-listed classes' chairmen. (The third language people may be excused, other valid reasons or proofs must be given for being absent)

This is OUR project, this is something that we should be PROUD of, because we belong to CMC. We will expect nothing but PERFECTION on Wednesday, let's show the school what we are capable of. We hope everyone is already excited about it by now.

Dear Chairmen,

Please remember to update you class diary diligently.
The following should be updated:

Class Time-table
Class seating plan
Daily class strength, name of absentees and reasons for absence
Subject teachers' signatures
Form teacher's signature at the end of the day

Class diary should be returned to the pigeon holes (CMC MATTERS LOWER SEC/ UPPER SEC) everyday. It is located at the linkway between staffroom and class 3-6.
Inspection will be done at least once a week or more.

In addition, for new tie-pins or CMC badge, please look for Mr Tan JH at the staffroom 1. A fine of $2 will be imposed on chairmen for the new badges or tie pins. The fines will directly go to the CMC fund.

Dear Chairmen,

As mentioned in today's morning meeting, we would like to emphasize the following points once again:

One Class Chairman is to be seated in front of the class and the other is to be seated at the back of the class as the last man.
The CMC badge, and tie, together with the tie pin are to be on at all times when in the school premises.
If you tie pin/badge is broken/missing/lost/damaged, please approach Mr Tan JH at Staffroom 1 (enter from wooden door) personally. Please take good care of your badge and tie pin, for there are far too many chairmen approaching us for new ones.

Besides that, we would like to raise another issue regarding the class diary. Every class chairman is to return the class diary back into the pigeon hole after school everyday, and the class diary are to be updated diligently. We will be inspecting the class diaries at least once every week.

We hope that everybody will take note of the above key points and strive to be a better leader of the class.

Dear Chairmen,

We would like to thank everyone who helped out on Friday's PTM, and also those who attended the CMC Camp. We hope that everyone learnt something from the Camp, and also get to know someone new in the camp. That was our main objective. Please read through the CMC file that was given out during the camp, because it was compiled for the benefit of our chairmen.

Merry Christmas to all! It's the holiday season, but we have a reminder for all of you. Dear Chairmen,
From next week onwards (16th to 19th of October), the reporting time for school is 7.40am. The morning assembly will begin at 7.45am. The first period of lesson will start at 8.15am and each period will last for 45 minutes. There will be 5 minutes of movement time to allow students to move from venue to venue for lessons, so please ensure that your classmates do not report late for the next lesson. If the previous teacher drags the lesson, please ask politely for lesson to end. Due to this adjustment, there will not be any 10 minutes break. The dismissal time is also the same as before.

Please take note, there will NOT be any bell to indicate transitions of periods. On Monday, class chairmen are to ensure that the clocks are synchronised, and ensure the smooth progress of period transitions.

After this trial run, class chairmen are to assist the giving of feedbacks of the student body. More information will be given soon.

The Chinese Department will be having internal Listening Comprehension (LC) Exam and Oral Exam from 27-29 August 2007.

All class chairmen are to note and take the following actions:

1. Remind classmates about exam held after school daily so that they do not interrupt exam in progress.

2. Ensure the classroom is clean with all personal belongings locked up during the exam period.

3. Remind classmates to not go back to the classrooms to pick up homework / personal belongings etc during the exam period.

Dear Chairmen,

We have previously briefed everyone that every class chairman has to purchase a gift for their form teachers and co-form teachers, and present the present that they have purchased to them during the ceremony.
However, there is a change in plan. The councillors are going to prepare a standard present for all teachers, be it form teachers or subject teachers. It is to standardise the gifts given out to the teachers during the ceremony to ensure that all teacher will receive the same present. Class chairmen will be presenting the teachers with the standard gift and not with the class gift.
Therefore, it is not compulsory for class chairmen to purchase the gifts anymore. If you wish to present any gifts to your teachers, it is encouraged that you do so before the celebration ceremony.

Dear Secondary 1 and 2 chairmen,

Please be informed that all secondary one and two chairmen are to undergo a series of trainings before school closes in Week 10.The trainings will be held from Week 8 (starting next week) to Week 10.

Sec 2 chairmen will have their sessions on every TUESDAYS. It will be from 2.50pm to 4.30pm.
Sec 1 chairmen will have their sessions on every THURSDAYS. It will be also from 2.50pm to 4.30pm.

The first session for Sec 2 will start on 14th August, and the first session for Sec 1 will start on 16th August.
The first sessions will be held in the SLB room, located right beside the students' lounge.

Secondly, the CMC camp will be held on 6th September to 7th September in school. More details will be given during meetings. Meanwhile, please find out if you are able to make it for the camp.

For chairmen who are unable to make it for any of the trainings or CMC camp, please inform
Robin as soon as possible.
A valid reason is required. Attendance is compulsory.

Dear chairmen,
The CMC Fund shall be used for purchasing supplies for CMC.as well as for the notes used during trainings. It may also be used to subsidise the upcoming camp fees. We will post the accounts of the fund on the blog, so it is going to be very transparent.

Secondly, This friday (27/07) is the Sec 4 PTM. ALL CMC members are expected to turn up for PTM duties. In additional, every class is to include another person to help out. Helpers are excused from CCAs. As we have emphasised before, service for the school comes before CCA. However, should there be anyone who cannot turn up with a valid reason, you are to look for a replacement to cover your duties. To summarise, each class is to provide us with 3 people.
If you have difficulties getting volunteers, please seek help from your form teacher. If not, please get help from your fellow chairmen to help you source for replacement from their class to cover your duties.

To date, we have not received names from majority of the classes. As we have a tight schedule to follow, we request that you provide us with the names LATEST BY MON (23/07)

As all of you know that this pre-investiture period is a very busy period for all. We hope that everyone will give your best shot to CMC and SLB, but also not neglecting your academics.

IMPORTANT

All CMC members:
Please memorise the SLB pledge during the weekend. EVERYONE MUST know how to recite the pledge by Monday. You may be tested on Monday. There will be 2 more rehearsals on Monday and Tuesday. They are VERY important rehearsals. Please try your best to arrange your schedule in order to make it.

Sec 3 CMC members:
Please decorate the photo frames and hand it in to us by Monday. If you have questions to who you are decorating for, please look for the EXCOs.

Backdrop painting helpers:

Here is a piece of important information for the SEC 2s. This Saturday is the CHMA finals, and as it is a school event, we would like to mobilise the Sec 2s to be the ushers for the day. Greetings to all,
This is the first post by the Sec 3s. The Sec 4s have done a great job in upholding the pride of CMC and have done a marvelous job throughout their appointments. The Sec 3s would like to thank all our dearest seniors for their efforts and hard work.

There are some important information for all CMC members:

Firstly, on the 3rd of July, all Student Leaders have to attend a talk session with Mr Lee. It will start at 2pm and is estimated to end at 4pm. The venue is at the modern dance studio. The dance studio is located just beside the iMedia recording studio, which is near the bookshop.

Secondly, the SLB investiture 2007 will be held on the 11th of July (Wed).

There will be four rehearsals day:
1) 3rd July (Tue)
2) 5th July (Thurs)
3) 9th July (Mon)
4) 10th july (Tue)

As there will be Oral examinations in the hall, the hall is only available for use after 5pm, so the rehearsals is expected run from 5-8 pm. There will be a parent's letter issued to all SLB members. Please seek for parental understanding to attend these rehearsals.

If anyone cannot make it for any rehearsals (with valid reasons), please approach Richie.

Thirdly, there will be a back-drop painting session on the 7th of July (Sat) for 10 CMC members. If you are interested, please inform Richie before the 5th of July (Thur). We would strongly suggest you volunteer as it is a learning experience worth going for.

Lastly, the regular CMC meeting will be held on every Tuesday at special room 3A. The meeting venue is subject to change if the room is being used.

There will be no announcement made for chairmen to report at meeting place. So please make your way down to the meeting room as soon as the flag raising ceremony ends.

Please be in school on the first day before 6:45am. There will be an update for all classes through their class chairmen, so all those who are CMC members as at October 2006, please turn up for the mass briefing in the classroom directly opposite the board room (the classroom in between two classrooms used by the P6s in 2006 on L3). We urge all CMC members as of October 2006 to turn up so as to facilitate the election of your new class committee in 2007. The meeting will also include collection of important documents for each class in 2007. More information on the procedures for the new year will be given out at the same time.

If you still are not aware of this, Ms Saras, along with Mr Tan Jit Huih, are now our new CMC teacher advisors. We wish Mr Yao all the best as he leaves the CMC.

A reminder: The first day of school for 2007, 3 January, is a Wednesday. Please remind your classmates to bring their ties as afternoon assembly is still on as usual.

SLB Camp 2006

Hi all,

The SLB camp for this year will be held on 27 to 28 December 2006, instead of the 27 - 29 Dec date set tentatively. Check-in time on the 27th will be at 7am in the canteen, and check-out time will be around 10pm on the 28th. The camp will include trainings both by external trainers and ourselves.

Please indicate your participation to any of the EXCO members. Please note that only valid reasons will be accepted for your absence.

Catholic High School Exhibit at Toa Payoh

There will be an exhibition on Catholic High School at the HDB Hub in Toa Payoh on Saturday 18th November 2006. At least 7 Sec 3 CMC members are needed for this event, which lasts from 10am to 6pm. However, you will be split into different shifts and will only have to do 2 hours.

If you can make it for this event, please meet Mr Julian Teo for a briefing this Thursday 16th November 10am outside Staff Room 2.

Attire for the event is full school uniform with tie.

CMC Interview [1st round]

Dear all,

The Excos would like to inform you guys that there will be an interview for ALL lower secondary CMC members this Friday, 10th November 2006. There will be a total of two shifts of interview - Morning and Afternoon Shifts, ranging from 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 4pm respectively. Hence, whoever can make it for the morning shift please turn up during the time given above and report your names to the I/C on that period - first come first served basis. Same for the afternoon shift too. The venue will be one of the classrooms, however please report to the SL room first and then the I/C will bring you up. The interview is not a mass interview but on a one-by-one routine.

Therefore, we wish you all the best and do give it your best shot! =)

P.S. We're sorry for the late posting and updates. Hope to see you guys next year!

There are a total of two rounds of interviews, the first one, as mentioned above, will be held on this coming Friday and the other (we will update you again) for those who did not make it for the first round.

CMC Interview

Here's a post to clear the air about the upcoming CMC interview:

The interview will most likely be held on THURSDAY, for those who are unclear when. All Class and Assistant Chairmen from sec 1 and 2 (2006) will have to be present. Quite obviously, turn up in proper school attire with tie for the interview. Details about the venue and time will be posted soon.

You'll find out what the interview is for when you turn up on that day, we shouldn't reveal that much yet.

Do your best for this interview! It's not just about whether you become an Exco in the future or not. It's also about the experience and the bonding you will get...

Open House 2006

For the Catholic High School Open House on 28th October 2006, all Student Leaders who can make it are to report at 8am outside the General Office. Student Leaders are to be dressed in full school uniform with ties. All student leaders will be needed to usher and give an introduction of the school building and history. On exhibition are CCAs, department programmes, sports activities and other features of the school. Please ask Excos of the SLB who are present or any other Student Councillor or Prefect who had gone for the briefing on 26th October for more details. Please do your best to project a good image of the school to all the parents of potential students!

Just a short review

As you know it was stated in the morning meeting today that both the Sec 1s and 2s will need to submit by the end of the day, a list of the names and the confirmation of their availability on Saturday for the open house.

Sec 2s, well done. It was done neatly and submitted on time. Self-initiative was taken and it was done as required.

However, Sec 1s, the task was not done on time as it was noted that till assembly period after recess, it was stated that no one had actually taken the initiative to start listing the information. Fortunately, Yong Kee was able to rush it last minute and submit on time.

On the whole, you guys still did reasonably well as you guys were able to submit on time, however, i would like to see more initiative in the Sec 1s. Although you may be the youngest in the school, you have been in the school for a year already. Furthermore, you guys will be Sec 2s soon and a new batch of Sec 1s will soon come as your juniors! So keep working hard!

So i hope that you guys will keep up the good work and still improve in the areas where there is room for improvement!

Hey guys! All of us Excos must say you all have done well in today's emergency exercise! We have been commended by Ms Saras as seen in the SMS adaption here:

"We scored A* for getting the school settled down in the field and by reporting attendance in 20 mins. CMC has done an excellent job today! ... ... Please collate any feedback that they would like to give so I can incorporate them in my AAR. Once again, good job in organising your chairmen."

As you can see, feedback is greatly welcomed and appreciated. Please feel free to feedback to us when you see us in school or otherwise you can tag in the blog too!

Well guys, we as Excos will really like to thank all of you for completing a job well done! It is really all your hard work that paid off. I believe that we're on the path towards bringing CMC up! =D Keep up the good work!

Next, we have another assignment to carry out, so once again we would seek your cooperation and we hope that it would work out smoothly. Please take note:

We would have to be down on Saturday (28 October 2006) for Student Leader duties at the Open House. As such, both chairmen and assistant chairmen from Sec 1, Sec 2, and Sec 3*(non-higher chinese) would have to be down in school in full school attire with ties on.

The following would be carried out during the week:

Wed: Confirmation and submission of names of SLs who are coming as well as reasons for those who cannot make it
Thurs: Hair check to ensure SLs project a good image of the school
Thurs: Briefing on duties on Saturday [most probably after school so pls take note]

*pls take note that the higher chinese sec 3s are excused as they have their 'O' Level Chinese papers on Monday (30/10/06).

As such, we need the confirmation by Wednesday morning. We would be having a short meeting right after assembly so please look out. For those who cannot make it, please write your name, class, CC/AC and reason on a piece of paper and pass it to us during that morning's meeting.

This is a gentle reminder to all Class and Assistant Chairmen. The examinations are now over, and it is an obligation for you to put on your ties at all times in school uniform. If the Excos see any CMC member without his tie, his CMC school badge will be removed immediately, especially those who have been given warnings before.

Concerning Ties

To all Sec 1 to 3 Class and Assistant Chairmen,

Please note that you are supposed to put on your tie at all times in your school uniform. The only time you can remove your tie during school hours is during science practicals, D&T or home economics lessons. To a certain extent, you may remove your ties only for the duration of a particular exam paper, not throughout the entire exam day/week.

For upper secondary chairmen, please set a good example to our juniors by not removing your tie when not having examinations. For lower secondary chairmen, if you do see any CMC member not wearing his tie, you may note the person's name and directly inform any of the Excos.

Remember, you are a representative of the Student Leaders' Board and CMC at all times. Do not readily remove your tie at any instance.

Devotion Collection

There is an important issue we need to address. At this moment in time, not many classes have submitted their devotions to Miss Tan Lee Choo.

Each class is to submit one devotion in English and one in Chinese.
Please submit your devotions by latest this Friday 29th September 2006.
